Boat Ramps
Lake Conroe can be accessed by several public boat ramps located at various locations along the shoreline. Some of these boat ramps do require an access fee while others are available at no charge. While many access ramps are on public properties, others are on privately owned lands or marinas.
Scott’s Ridge Recreation Aream Boat Ramp
Directions to the park are as follows: From I-45 take exit 94 (FM 1097), west 8.5 miles to Scotts Ridge Road, turn right (north). The recreation area is at the end of the road.
From the FM 1097 bridge, go west about 1.5 miles before turning right at the boat ramp sign to reach the Scott’s Ridge two-lane concrete boat ramp, which can accommodate a variety of boats. Requiring a fee, the year-round boat ramp is operated by the National Forest Service. Call (936) 344-6205 to learn more about the ramp or its location.
The National Forest Service has two public paved boat ramps and a small boat launch at Stubblefiled Lake campground and picnic area. There is a service fee to use the paved ramps. An annual permit is available for $30 or for $15 for Golden Age/America the Beautiful passport holders.
Stubblefield Lake Ramp
Stubblefield Lake Recreation Area has a dirt ramp for small boats available in the Sam Houston National Forest. There is no boat launch fee, but there is a day-use fee for campground and picnic area use. Open year round, it is located off Stubblefield Lake Road, which is off FM 1375. Cable Recreation Area Ramp
Cagle Recreation Area has a two-lane concrete boat lamp that can accommodate all boat types. Open year-round, there is a fee for ramp use. From the Lake Conroe Bridge on FM 1375, travel east about 1 mile before turning right at the boat ramp sign. Call (936) 344-6205 for more information.
Stow-a-way Marina Ramp
Stow-a-way Marina has a three-lane concrete ramp for all kinds of boats. The year-round ramp is privately owned and does require a fee. From Willis, go north on IH 45 for about 2 miles then exit Calvary Road, turning west and going about 5 miles until reaching the marina on the right. Call (936) 856-4531 for more information. This is one of the best boat ramps on the lake.
Lochness Marina Ramp
Lochness Marina and RV Park has one two-lane concrete boat ramp to accommodate all kinds of boats. A fee is required for the boat ramp, which is open year-round. From Willis, take IH 45 north, traveling 2 miles then exiting onto Calvary Road, turning west then going 4 miles to the bridge. After you pass the bridge, continue following Calvary Road about a mile until you reach the marina on the right. For information call (936) 890-8998.
FM 830 Ramp
The FM 830 Ramp is open year-round. The two concrete ramps that can accommodate all kinds of boats can be accessed by traveling IH 45 North from Conroe then taking Exit FM 830. Go west 5 miles to the cul de sac at the road’s end. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department maintains the ramp.
April Plaza Marina Ramp
The privately owned April Plaza Marina is open year-round. A three-lane concrete ramp accommodates all boat types. From Conroe, travel 10.5 miles west on Texas 105 until reaching the marina, which is on the right. A fee is required. For information call (936) 588-1144.
Lakeview Marina Ramp
Two, two-lane concrete ramps accommodate various boats at Lakeview Marina. From IH 45, travel 7.5 miles west on Texas 105 before turning right on Beachwalk Blvd. Privately operated, a fee is required for the year-round ramp. Call (936) 588-3190 for more information.
